The 11th SFA congress will be held in Autrans (June 4-6, 2025) at the Escandille seminar center.
The program will focus on new fields in vascular biology such as the heterogeneity of blood vessels and the molecular and cellular mechanisms enabling their formation and stability. Understanding how and why blood vessels of different sizes and morphologies in different organs develop and maintain their architecture, even when subjected to relentless hemodynamic forces, are fundamental questions that involve principles of biology common to all cells in an organism. The program will also include sessions on vascular malformations or dysfunctions associated with diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular or inflammatory diseases. These fields have recently developed paradigms, tools and models enabling fundamental discoveries to be rapidly applied to patient treatment.
The program will be supported by a panel of national and international experts, including two keynote speakers, Prof. Shahin Rafii of Cornell University, USA, and Prof. Martin Schwartz of Yale University, USA. Renowned European guest speakers will open the various sessions, with young French and international researchers selected by abstract. The program will feature 24 selected papers, faithfully reflecting the different fields of vascular biology research being carried out in Europe.
The conference will be held in a vacation and seminar center in the heart of the Vercors region. The unity of the venue will encourage interaction between participants, thanks in particular to a convivial time dedicated to nature activities.
